Nordmann Kompakt: Men’s care products
Do we really need gender-neutral personal care products? After all, the hashtag #nogender is popping up everywhere in social media channels, and it’s no surprise – the differences between men’s and women’s skin and hair are not all that significant. Nonetheless, a lot has changed in the field of men’s grooming in recent years. More men these days feel a need to take care of themselves and put more effort into their grooming. This has driven a rise in the number of new products for beard and scalp care, for example.
In this Nordmann Kompakt presentation, our lab team takes a look at several different raw materials for use in men’s grooming products, as well as for unisex personal care. The focus is on classic, well-known actives such as Algisium®, Q10, Pentavitin® and panthenol, but we also highlight new and innovative active ingredients for the eye area and aftershave products. We’ll also discuss products that keep formulations feeling light and less greasy – including volatile emollients like BeauSens® Air, silicones or sensory additives that can also absorb sebum, e.g. Valvance® Touch 210 or products from the Celus-Bi® Feel range.
Often, personal care products for men differ only from women’s in terms of color and fragrance. To accommodate these needs, our range offers many different colorants and fragrances – both natural and conventional.
Two other important issues in men’s grooming are hair care and sun protection. Let us show you three active ingredients that can increase hair density and thickness while improving its pigmentation, as well as innovative suncare formulations with a very light skin feel.
